Every province runs its own government-owned sports betting, under different brand names and with different ages. Here is who operates what, where you can bet online or in a store, and what changed when single-event betting became legal.
A 50/50 draw looks like a simple raffle, but it runs on a charity licence, a geolocation check and a prize that grows with every sale. Here is how Oilers, Maple Leafs and Canadiens draws work, what your odds look like in C$, and how the prize is taxed.
A casino jackpot or a sports bet is normally a tax-free windfall in Canada, but the income it earns afterwards is not, and a true professional can be taxed as a business. Here is where the line sits and how the courts draw it.
Chase the Ace is a weekly charity raffle: buy a ticket, and if yours is drawn you pull one card from a shrinking deck. Miss the ace and the jackpot rolls on. Here are the rules, the real odds per week and how provinces license it.
Curling looks slow, but the betting is all about one thing: the last stone of the end, known as the hammer. Learn the markets, how steals and blank ends move the lines, and why a concession can turn a winning total into a loser.
Canada has no single national self-exclusion list. Each province runs its own program, with different terms, different venues covered and different consequences if you break it. This guide compares them and explains the gap with offshore sites that no provincial list reaches.

A Kahnawake Gaming Commission logo at the bottom of a casino site is a real regulatory link, but it is not a provincial licence. Here is what the permit types are, how the complaint process works, and what the badge cannot do for you.
Ontario regulates online gambling differently from every other province, and operators respond by building a separate site, wallet and set of offers just for Ontarians. Here is what drives the split and what it means if you move.
Treat the slip as a ticket, not a plan. Set a deposit limit before the first bet, keep stakes to money you would spend on a night out, and stop when it stops being fun. The legal age is 19, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
